Rightfully Sewn is an organization in Kansas City that trains seamstresses and aids in finding them employment. I spent time with one of the classes and got to attend their graduation some months later. The class I documented was comprised of immigrant women, there were three different interpreters in attendance translating the teacher’s instructions to the seamstresses in training. This piece was shot for The Pitch Magazine.
