A Weekend for Immigrants & Refugees

Images from a protest and an interfaith vigil held in Kansas City. The protest was organized by Stand Up For Racial Justice (SURJ). There was a rally and march to Kansas City’s City Hall to appeal to Mayor Sly James and  the KC government on behalf of immigrants and refugees suffering from the Trump Administration Immigration Ban.

The Interfaith Vigil for Immigrants and Refugees was held at Overland Park Christian Church. Something like 1,000 people from various faith backgrounds gathered to pray, discuss and take action against the Immigration Ban.

I covered these events for KCPT’s digital magazine, Flatland. Find the article here: http://www.flatlandkc.org/news-issues/immigration-ban-prompts-weekend-events-kansas-city/
